Frank McMahon
Founder and Principal / Managing Director
Frank McMahon is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience spanning both industry and public practice. After beginning his career in industry in 1991, Frank transitioned to public practice in 1997, and in 2004, he founded McMahon Auditors Accountants from the box room of his home in Kildare Town.
What began with just 13 loyal clients—who remain with the firm to this day—quickly grew through word-of-mouth referrals, prompting the expansion of the business and the early addition of his wife, Laura Gilroy, to the team. As the firm flourished, it outgrew its initial home setup, moving to dedicated offices on Bride Street in 2004, Claregate Street in 2006, and finally settling into a modern premises on Academy Street in 2017. Today, McMahon Auditors Accountants is a thriving practice with 19 staff and proud recognition as an approved CPA employer partner, supporting the next generation of accountants.
Frank holds post-qualification diplomas in Forensic Accounting, Corporate Insolvency, and Personal Insolvency, and is a qualified Business and Executive Coach through UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. He is committed to continuous professional development, staying up to date with evolving tax legislation, company law, and regulatory frameworks to better serve his clients.
Beyond his professional achievements, Frank is deeply embedded in the Kildare community. He has represented and held leadership roles in several local organisations. A proud former player of Round Towers GAA, Frank has won two Kildare Senior Football Championships (1996 and 1998) and a Leinster title with the Kildare U21s in 1991. Now retired from playing, he remains an active in various roles in the community.
When he’s not at work or supporting his local clubs, Frank enjoys golf, fitness, and spending quality time with his family.
