New Security Industry Employment Regulation Order 

The Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Emer Higgins TD, has confirmed that she will sign a new Employment Regulation Order (ERO) or the security industry which will come into effect on 1 July 2024 and provides for the following minimum hourly rates of pay:

An unsocial hours premium (per shift) is payable to security industry workers who work between 9pm and 7am provided they worked at least 3 hours during that period. From 1 January 2025, this premium is due to increase to €16.80 per shift, further increasing to €20 per shift from 1 January 2026.
