Certified Public Accountant
Certified Public Accountant with 23 years experience in both Industry from 1991 to 1997 and since 1997 in Public Practice.
Frank is a native of Kildare Town. He established McMahon & Co Accountants in February 2004 in the box room of his house. Frank started with 13 clients, all of whom are still with the company.
As a result of referrals from clients the business grew rapidly which necessitated the need for an extra pair of hands. This led to Frank’s wife Laura Gilroy joining him to develop the business further.
In October 2004 the box room and kitchen returned to the use of the house as the business moved to its first offices on Bride Street, Kildare Town. This move again proved fruitful and the client referrals kept adding to the client base. Again it was not long before the business outgrew these offices and required more staff.
In June 2006 the business moved to modern purpose designed offices on Claregate Street, Kildare Town. The business now employees 6 people and is an approved employer partner with the CPA offering training opportunities to people studying for the CPA exams.
Frank has completed numerous post qualification diplomas in Forensic Accounting, Corporate Insolvency and Personal Insolvency. Frank has also attended regular continuing professional education courses which keep him abreast of changes in taxation, company law and regulations which affect his clients.
Outside of Frank’s professional commitments he finds time to represent numerous local organizations. He is a member of the Kildare Chamber of Commerce and a director of the Kildare Town Sports Community Employment Scheme.
His real passion is for the local GAA club Round Towers GFC. Frank has represented the club at all levels from U10 to senior level. He lists as his greatest achievements playing on Kildare Senior Championships winning teams in 1996 and 1998. Frank has also represented the Kildare County Football team at U21 and junior level winning a Leinster title in 1991.
Although now retired from active participation Frank is still heavily involved in the club and has held the following positions. County Board Delegate, Selector on the Senior Team, Club Development Officer and his most recent and most important appointment to date as the coach to the U5 nursery team.
Frank also enjoys a game of golf and keeping himself fit.
